Born in 1987 to a southern upbringing, Hallie K Lickteig was raised just outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she first realized a love of literature. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature in 2009 and is currently working towards her Masters of Business in Marketing at Benedictine University. After graduating, she spent time exploring Greece covering travel, culture and art for online blogs and focusing on her writing. Upon returning to the US, she embarked upon a writing career. Hallie considers herself a nomad in training always traveling seeking adventures and new experiences. She splits her time between her family home outside of Houston, Texas with her parents, her two ninjas (her baby brother and niece), and her Chihuahua (who is more rat than dog), and her hometown of Austin, Texas. In addition to receiving the Promising Young Poet award, Hallie’s short stories have been featured in the University’s experimental writing literary journal. Her previous publications include various short stories, essays, and poetry. Hallie is also an avid supporter of OLL and a winning participant in their 2011 National Novel Writing Month. She is currently in works on her first full length novel to be released in 2013.
